WALT collaborate

In The Woodlands we are practising how to learn together. We need to share materials and talk about our creations. Today we had bakers, builders, writers and sausage makers out on the playdough table. Playdough is a fun way to strengthen little fingers ready to hold pencils and pens. Playdough is a great way to develop oral language skills. Out there we had squishy, crumbly, longer, shorter, round and plenty of alphabet and number stamping on various cakes, pancakes and muffins. We had heaps of fun- we learned about sharing materials and ideas. Thanks to Mrs McNair for making the playdough for us.

WALT be a Ruahine Rocker

Each Friday Pounamu visits our beautiful QEII. We love to learn collaboratively, it is fun to learn with our friends. Making a hut takes lots of resilience- searching for the right materials, planning and creating. We respect nature, we don't break off leaves and sticks and we even pick up rubbish. We discovered that there are families of birds living in the QEII and spiders that make spectacular webs. We can't wait for next week. Today we also tried our hand at tent building. Mrs Haswell brought her tent and we put it up in the field. We will probably be able to do it all by ourselves shortly! Exciting adventures can be had in the QEII!
