WALT write instructions

In order to write instructions you really need to experience the real thing, especially if you are talking about food and drink. We made a chocolate milk drink at school. The last instruction is stir and enjoy, we really did! Delicious.

WALT order instructions

Today we were learning how important it is to order instructions correctly. We had to read and then order these instructions correctly. Just cutting these up was a real skill. We were impressed by the cutting, glueing, reading and ordering skills in 'The Woodlands'. Well done to those children who finished early and helped other learners.

The latest game!

The latest game in 'The Woodlands' is the game of schools. Look at Kahli and Hayden. They were playing teachers and needed speakers just like Mrs Gibbs. Great thinking girls!

Luring the eels

At the QEII on Friday we used a couple of tricks to get the eel to come back to us. Firstly Mrs Cammock brought cat food to feed them and Will and Ruby flicked the surface of the water to make them think insects were around. We learnt at Mount Bruce that eels have a keen sense of smell and guess what? One slithered upstream from the culvert past the fence. It was so exciting. Pictured is Lucas in the stream- feeding the eel!

WAL the scissor jump

We really enjoyed athletics training on Friday. We are getting really confident about jumping and landing on our feet. Milly, George, Jack and Mason are standing in front of the height they jumped today. Tino pai e rawa.

Being Observant

Wow! At read and eat today we were lucky enough to spot this little fellow. We watched him carry dried grass to his nest. It was a wonderful treat to see nest building happening for real.
